Course Description and Objectives
This section of Freshman Honors Seminar will examine the theme of katabasis (descent to the underworld) in poetry, prose, drama and film. Both ancient and modern works will be studied.

Course Policy
Since this class is both an academic endeavor and an introduction to college life, a certain part of each class period will be reserved for discussions and/or presentations on college life. Letter grades will be assigned on the standard Missouri State University curve: 90-100%= A; 80-89%= B; 70-79%= C; 60-69%= D; 59%-below= F.
Course Grading
40% examination (20% for midterm, 20% for final)
50% written YongyWiki assignments (10% each)
10% class participation
